Daily Doings

Someone asked what I have been up to. Well . . . Nursing a baby takes a lot of time out of a mommy's day, so I've had to be very focused on how I spend my time. I've managed to pick back up most of my homemaking duties. The children have been wonderful to pick up my slack, and Brittany still helps me with cooking the meals when I've got my hands full.

I have a master To Do List from which I pick one. One . ONE task at a time to work at completing (once the baby is fed and any must-do chores are done). I do not necessarily get that task done in one day, but I chip away at it until it's done.

Sometimes its a deeper cleaning chore or re-organization task. Due to deadlines, last week's goal had to be getting the report cards completed. Since I was already wading through all the school paperwork, I made my next goal getting the applications ready for the 2009-2010 school year. This included finalizing the curriculum choices for the four children that will be schooling and making a list of what books need to be bought.

My current goal is sewing a camera bag for Brian. He needed one large enough to fit his laptop, camera and lenses for when he's out on a job, but those were pretty expensive. So, he and I designed what he wanted. I transferred the design onto a pattern, cut out the fabric and am currently sewing along. We were making fabulous time yesterday, and I had high hopes of finishing it by this evening. Megan, however, decided to choose today as a big cluster feeding day which means I've had very little time without her today. We'll see what happens.

And now my break is over, and it's back to work!
Brian is a tough taskmaster (not really). ;o)

Jodi, you are one busy Mother! I'm glad you have some help from your sweet children. You are so smart to be able to make that bag for Brian. I know he will love it. Blessing, sweet friend ~
